Metal Transfer Behavior of Metal-Cored Arc Welding in Pure Argon Shielding Gas

چکیده
The metal transfer behavior of gas arc welding in a pure argon shielding was evaluated through experiments using standard solid wire and metal-cored wire. investigation conducted observation techniques based on recording images by high-speed camera equipped with laser assistance bandpass filters range currents. It observed that the mode became streaming when current increased Meanwhile, wire, droplet frequency increased, diameter decreased without changing globular mode. We surmised would be caused spread plasma at tip, which decreases effect electromagnetic force detachment. Conversely, due to presence flux inside could not attached close iron vapor overhead droplet. Hence, acting side unmelted ineffective promoting detachment, preventing transition Furthermore, weld bead formation better than conventional

Effects of shielding gas compositions on arc plasma and metal transfer in gas metal arc welding
This article presents the effects of shielding gas compositions on the transient transport phenomena, including the distributions of temperature, flow velocity, current density, and electromagnetic force in the arc and the metal, and arc pressure in gas metal arc welding of mild steel at a constant current input. The shielding gas considered includes pure argon, 75% Ar, 50% Ar, and 25% Ar with ...
متن کاملMetal Transfer and Arc Plasma in Gas Metal Arc Welding
This article analyzes the transient complex heat transfer and fluid flow in molten metal and arc plasma during the gas metal arc welding process. The model predicts the formation, growth, detachment, and transfer of droplets from the tip of a continuously fed electrode under the influences of several competing forces including gravity, electromagnetic force, arc pressure, plasma shear stress, a...
متن کاملNumerical Analysis of Metal Transfer in Gas Metal Arc Welding
METAL transfer describes the process of the molten metal movement from the electrode tip to the workpiece in gas metal arc welding (GMAW). A better understanding of the metal transfer process is important for improvements in the quality and productivity of welding. While several distinct modes of the metal transfer have been classified,[1] the globular and spray transfer modes have received att...
متن کاملMetal Transfer in Double-Electrode Gas Metal Arc Welding
Gas metal arc welding (GMAW) is the most widely used process for metal joining because of its high productivity and good quality, but analysis shows that the fundamental characteristic restricts conventional GMAW from further increasing the welding productivity. A novel GMAW process, refereed to as double-electrode GMAW or DE-GMAW, thus has been developed to make it possible to increase the mel...
